CTO and CFO advice for your business

CTO Advice Of The Month

Is your tech team delivering the results your business needs? We’ve talked to a number of companies this past month that have spent a lot of money on tech but have not received what they were expecting.
Our tips to you are simple:
Organise the dev work into sprints
Have the tech team provide estimates for deliver they can commit to
Ensure that you have someone on hand to explain the requirements
Make sure that after each sprint you see what has been developed in a demo
Many of the disreputable teams out there will tell you that they don't give estimates on individual tasks or that giving a demo will eat from delivery time. These are all excuses and as the person paying for the work, you should ensure that the requirements are understood and that the team delivers what you want to an agreed timescale.
